Summary:

No one ever told him breaking up would leave him feeling hollow. A broken heart Michael can deal with. Alex has walked out of his life enough times for him to write a training manual on how to duct tape your heart back together.
But this is the first time he's ever been through a break-up. And it sucks. He can’t pull up a stool and bother Maria like he’d usually do because he doesn’t know if she’d welcome it. They love each other, he knows that, they said as much but, fuck, now what is he supposed to do with that?

As far as Maria is concerned, Michael is a paying customer. A regular at the Pony who’s found a second home at the watering hole just like every other lost soul in town. They’re back to the beginning of what they were. No. Less. They’re a slate that’s been erased but not cleaned.
Every now and again, she nudges Michael about Alex. Checks in with a joke or a tease that doesn’t feel as good as she makes it sound. It’s never received well, but she keeps trying. It’s the distance she needs.

Note: This is an ongoing season 3 canon compliant fic focused on Michael and Maria's relationship. It currently sits at two chapters, but I'll be adding more as inspiration strikes if the two have good scenes together.

What's Happening with Wyatt - What If?, Redemption or Both?

The second episode of season 3 seemed to really kick off a storyline for Wyatt that had been hinted at since mid-Season 2 - some sort of "redemption" arc for Wyatt Long. The reaction against this has been pretty strong from some fans. For understandable reasons. I think the show really needs to be careful with how it handles the storyline. I think they can make it work, here's some thoughts.

Basically, I think for this to work they need to have a What If arc that segues into a Redemption arc.

Maria, and Michael Being a Dick

Why is Maria putting up with Michael being a dick in S2 Ep1?

I think there was a lot of development of Michael and Maria's relationship in S1, it was just much more low key than epic declarations of cosmic love and blown up parents. It was being a shoulder to cry on, fixing a broken thing to relight a beacon.

But I can see where there might be an issue with Michael spiralling and Maria not knowing why and her subsequently putting up with some pretty horrible behaviour on the part of Michael. BUT she is psychic. She can feel that he is in pain and going through something, that he's not faking, she just doesn't know the reason for that pain. So when she does find out it will make a lot more sense for her and the audience.

When I set up the community I wanted to make it look nice. And I think it does.

But I'm not sure how user friendly it is?

What do people think - keep the current look or drop it back to something more plain, less co-ordinated but which is probably easier for people to read and navigate?

I find myself itching to talk about Alex and Michael relationship, especially given the kerfuffle over to Twitter (Carina mentioned that at the start of the show, Alex feels ashamed of his relationship with Michael, and hasn’t told anyone about how he feels)

There’s been a lot of discussion over on tumblr about shame vs fear, and I find myself wanting to unpack it, see what others think.
